Privacy Policy for Tread

Last updated: August 14, 2026

What data does Tread access?

Tread accesses health and fitness data from Apple HealthKit, including step count, flights of stairs climbed, walking/running distance, exercise minutes, workouts, heart rate recorded during workouts, body weight, and body fat percentage. Tread may also read your date of birth from HealthKit, which is used only to suggest an age-appropriate workout heart rate goal. Tread also accesses motion data from your device’s pedometer for real-time step counting.

How is your data used?

Your health and fitness data is used solely to display your activity progress, history, and goal projections within the app and its associated watch complications. All calculations — including activity projections and suggested goals — are performed on your device. Your data is not transmitted to any server, shared with any third party, or used for advertising or tracking purposes.

Data storage

All health and fitness data stays on your device and in Apple HealthKit. Your goal preferences and settings are synced across your devices using Apple’s iCloud Key-Value Store, which is managed by Apple and subject to Apple’s privacy policy. No health measurements are stored in iCloud.

Third-party services

Tread does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. Tread does not collect any personally identifiable information.
